About

Photophoria is a Picture Library Software. You could compare it to Google Picasa, Apple iPhoto or Adobe Photoshop Album.

The application lets you see all your albums, scroll through your thumbnails, access the pictures using filters (by album, date, tags, EXIF information), see individual pictures, and do powerful corrections on them (Brightess, Contrast, Correct the Exposition, Sharpen, Remove the Noise, etc.).

The two big differences with its main competitors are that it's free and portable. Photophoria is licensed under the GPL license, letting you use, redistribute or modify the software freely. It's porbable, meaning that it works on Windows, Linux or MacOS (in progress right now. Stay tuned!).

Photophoria isn't a Picture Editor (like Paint Shop Pro or The Gimp), or a stand-alone Picture Viewer (like ACD See or gThumb). It takes all its benefits from knowing every single one of your pictures, and indexing them to show them instantly, at the expense of a bit of indexing the first time you add a picture folder to its Database.
